How does the Swim start?
The start will be out of the water. Competitors will start from in between all three bases in Klagenfurt public beach, which will leave more space for all competitors. Please bear in mind that all competitors are responsible for their start position. We advise you to decide carefully where to start: the slower you swim, the more on the left you should start to avoid being overtaken and endig up in crowds.

Is it allowed to wear a Wetsuit?
Yes.

What about water temperature on race day?
Water temperature will be between 22°C and 26°C.

Weather forecast for race day?
Average temperature 22°C, but temperatures can rise up to 34°C on very hot days.

Are disc wheels and bar end shifters allowed?

What timing system will be used?
For the new IRONMAN timing you will get a chip at the registration. In the after finish area you will have to return the chip.

No sorry. You can only use the chip you get from us.

Will there be Internet coverage with results?
Yes, www.ironman.com will exclusively cover the race.

How many slots for Hawaii will be filled at the Kärnten IRONMAN Austria?
50 slots.

What if I decide to withdraw?

There won’t be any tranfer of the entry slot to another year, another person or another race. 
 
Special products such as Extratickets, DVDs or VIP-Tickets will be refunded until 01.05.2012, from 2.05.2012 the special products have to be fully paid.
 
Austrian law; court of jurisdiction is Klagenfurt/Austria.

 
We recommend to take out the accident and cancellation insurance during the registration process!

How old do I have to be on IRONMAN Austria race day to being allowed to start?

You have to be 18 years old!
 
When will the prize money be paid out?
The prize money will be paid out after all results of doping tests have been announced to be negative.
