3. I-Pods, MP3 players and mobile phones (headphones) are prohibited during the whole race.
4. In case of accepting assistance by third parties or violating the rules in any other way (e.g. using a pace maker service), the stop-and-go rule (time penalty of one minute) will be applied. This penalty may be imposed repeatedly and has no connection to the penalties on the bike course.
5. The race number shall be worn clearly visible on the front of the body.
Biking
1. Exiting the bike course or taking a short cut in order to obtain a competitive advantage is prohibited.
2. Austrian road traffic regulations shall apply for the entire bike course.
3. Cycling without an approved cycling helmet that meets TÜV, CE, SNEL, or ANSI standards is prohibited on the entire length of the race track.
4. The chin-strap shall be closed as long as the athlete is in contact with the bicycle and along the entire length of the race track.
5. Opening the chin-strap and taking off the helmet is allowed only after dismounting the bicycle. As soon as the line indicating the transition area has been passed, athletes shall have to push their bicycles.
6. Athletes shall wear their starting numbers on the back of their tricots. Starting numbers shall be clearly readable at all times and may be attached to a race-number belt.
7. Repairs shall be allowed only when carried out by the athletes and only with tools and spare parts carried along by them. The organiser will not provide a service team on the course.

9. The starting number shall be fixed to the front of the helmet.
10. Disqualification: In order to discourage athletes from drafting, the following procedure shall apply for the Austria IRONMAN 70.3 St. Pölten:
If any rule violation is committed for the first time, the athlete’s race number and type of offence will be called out – no penalty will be issued!!
o Second-time (or even first-time) offenders (e.g. when caught drafting), will be penalised (e.g. through a time penalty) by the referees, and at the same time be shown the yellow card. Race referees may impose penalties upon all members of a group at the same time.
o The athletes shall stop at the penalty box, which is located in the transition area between the bike track and running track. Their race number will be crossed out once, and they are subjected to a 6 minutes penalty.
o Failure to proceed to the penalty box will result in disqualification. Should athletes leave the penalty box without being officially released by a referee, they will be given an additional time penalty of 15 minutes.
o ATTENTION: Upon reception of a second warning, athletes will be disqualified (on the bike track). Referees may also disqualify athletes with immediate effect.
o A distance of at least 10 m must be established to the cyclist in front at all times.
