Here you can find a short description of the several volunteers’ teams.
Start
2200 athletes will start at the same time to swim the first 3.8 km. Here you can help creating an unforgettable moment for athletes and spectators.
Transition Area/ Check In
In the transition area you can help athletes to having a quick change from one discipline to the other. You are responsible for competition equipment and you should have an organization talent because 2400 bikes and transition bags are delivered and picked up there.
Aid Station Bike/ Run
Through your help at the aid stations athletes can fill up with energy because you are providing them with food and drinks. Specially at run aid stations kids are more than welcome.
Finish/ Catcher
In the catcher-team you are welcoming the athletes at the finishline and you’re supporting the finisher in their way to the medical-tent. Some of the finishers have to be carried out of the finish area and no part of the race course is filled with more emotions than it is there. Feel the fascination and enthusiasm and let the athletes feel your appreciation!
Marshall
As a marshall you are responsible for a fair race without an offence against the rules.
Finisher T-Shirt ditribution/ medals
Be a part of the athlete’s enthusiasm and be one of the first who congratulates. The handing out of the t-shirt and medal is a reward for the athlete’s long training and hard raceday.
Massage team
In the massage team you are supporting the athlete’s regeneration after a hard and long day. The finishers are always looking forward to your competent help.
Security
As a security you are responsible for people’s and material’s savety during the race day.
Medical support
Your help in the medical team of the Kärnten IRONMAN Austria ensures the medical care of the athletes. In cooperation with the Austrian red cross and the ambulance your help could be necessary on the race course. Here we are looking for doctors and medical staff.
Media team
In the media team you are supporting jounalists at their job and are taking care for a global coverage of the race and the happenings around the event. Image and size of an event is meassured on its medial response. Besides competent information it is also important to providing journalists with friendly hospitality. Speaking foreign languages is a plus but not a must.
Ask-me team
In the ask-me team you are there for all questions and answers. You make it possible for athletes to getting an orientation, also spectators are going to have a lot of questions about the race. So you are going to be in the middle of the event. Speaking foreign languages is a plus but not a must.
Shuttle/ bike/ car driver
As a shuttle driver you are responsible for bringing athletes and journalists from A to B. On race day you are driving along the bike-course by motorbike, while a cameraman or photographer is sitting on the back. As a shuttle driver you are bringing journalists to the hot spots for making it possible to getting the best pics.
